Da Bluefunk District
Brussel’s finest, since 2009.
01 What it is
Da Bluefunk District is a hip-hop, funk and soul collective in Brussels. Since 2009 it has put on concerts and released records, and its shows have hosted Slum Village, Madlib and Roy Ayers. We did the artistic direction, the typography and the site.
02 The look
Brussels at night: a near-black ground, archive photos in a night-blue duotone, and one warm accent kept for the next date. Headlines are set in Prolific, the typeface drawn by Cris Prolific, a member of the collective.
03 How it’s built
Next.js and Payload CMS on Postgres, in French, Dutch and English. Agenda and live archive, stories, videos, galleries, a shop with Stripe checkout, and a private back office for the non-profit: mail, invoices, ledger, members, deadlines. Self-hosted.
